Days off in a small business are hard to do but if you plan your PR & Marketing in advance, at least you won’t have that to worry about.
You can revolve your marketing around summer themes, tapping into the seasonal aspect of it to bring your audience along with you.
Here are some themes used every year in marketing – can you hook your product or service on one?
Outdoors
Sunshine
Holidays
Relaxation
BBQs
Children off school
Light evenings
Get ahead of the competition:
Take a look back at your competition – and your own marketing from last year. What was done that you could pick up again, draw inspiration from or use again?
Summer is a time to keep going with your marketing – as many others will let it die down because of the holiday season. Summer could be your time to be noticed while others are having a rest!
Engage your audience:
Is there something you can do to engage your audience? Get them involved, ask them to post comments, photos, share, use your hashtag. It’s hard to get participation but a carefully planned summer marketing strategy will get some traction.
Stockpile your content:
Don’t sweat it out trying to get out regular content and writing blogs – get some of it done in advance! Once you have a summer PR plan, you will know your messages, know what you want to say and when you want to say it, so you can write the framework of your content and then all you have to do in the summer is to react to any breaking news or trends.
Plan for winter:
Get even more ahead and start thinking about your winter marketing…!
I’m not wishing it away – I just know it’s all much easier if you plan ahead!
