Business has gone digital due to COVID19 – but that doesn’t mean we can lapse our image standards!
Personal PR is still important, even though we’re not face to face for a while.
Here are a few tips to help with keeping up your personal PR during the next few weeks:
Dress for the occasion
If you’re on a call with a potential new client, look like the professional you are and wear what you might have worn if you were visiting them. First impressions still count and even if you apologise for wearing your unicorn hoodie, it will still be logged as a first impression.
No PJs
Obviously, wear what you like, but if you get caught wearing your PJs on a video call, you’re going to look really silly!
It’s all well and good saying they won’t see your bottom half, but what if you have to get up for something – oh dear!
Well-groomed
Sort your hair out and pop a face on if that’s what you usually do – you will feel more at work and give a better impression if you look the part.
Set the rules
Ask others in your house to avoid disturbing you during the call – you can then get on with it in peace and quiet! Set the kids up with something to do, make sure the dog has had a wee and hopefully your call with run smoothly!
Background
Try and make sure the background is OK – try not to do your call in front of your smalls on the airer, or with someone in the background who could distract you. Most people aren’t set up for working at home properly, so don’t worry too much.
