Well done to Izzy PR’s Michelle who completed the 10-mile Thames Moonlight Walk in support of our charity client, Holding On Letting Go (HOLG) and Cancer Research UK, raising just over £400 so far.
As well as supporting the two charities, Michelle chose to take part in the event in memory of her grandmother, Anne, who died in 2021.
Here’s what she had to say,
“It was really lovely to walk around London with my good friend, Stephanie, past all the famous landmarks that my nan loved, such as The Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, and over Tower Bridge.
“Although we were grateful it wasn’t raining, it was a lot hotter than we anticipated; about 25 degrees when we finished in the late evening, which definitely added to the challenge. The 7-mile mark is when the sore feet and aching thighs started to kick in, but we managed to keep up a good pace throughout.
“Crossing the finish line after around 3 hours, we were greeted with the very welcome sight of a free food truck for participants – and it was amazing to finally step out of the heat and into the shower when we got back to our hotel!
“I’d like to thank everyone who has donated so far and helped support these two important charities. These funds will help HOLG to carry on supporting bereaved children and their families at some of the most difficult times in their lives, as well as helping Cancer Research UK to continue its life-saving research.”
Izzy PR founder Saah Hawes said: “Well done Michelle – what an achievement on such a hot day! The money she raised for HOLG will directly help a bereaved child and their family – and as we know, the help given in childhood is often taken into adulthood, making a huge difference to their ability to cope and manage their emotions in the future.
“Brilliant work!”
