Izzy PR is run by me, journalist Sarah Hawes – a bit of a rare breed; a journalist working as a freelance PR.

I started my career almost two decades ago within Kent local media (KM Group). After working my way up to assistant news editor of a daily paper, I took a leap into PR, working with Kent Police, Essex Police, a digital agency and a charity. I returned to journalism briefly in early 2015 with BBC Radio Kent, before going back into PR with the NHS.

I founded Izzy PR because I am passionate about helping small and medium sized businesses launch their branding, raise their profile and move their marketing to the next level. I love what I do, and I think you will too…

As a journalist in PR, I can boast a great contacts book, am on first-name terms with editors and really can find a story in anything…truly! I understand what a newsdesk wants and can provide it, be it a headline, story, quote, photograph, video or interview access, in a format which captures their attention.

I am based in Kent and work with small and medium-sized businesses who are looking to launch branding, raise their profile or move their marketing to the next level. I’m also happy to work with you and your business on an interim basis, helping out during busy periods, covering a vacancy, sickness or maternity leave.

I’m a member of the Federation of Small Businesses, and Kent Invicta Chamber, plus join other networking groups to meet new people and find out how we can all help each other.

I work with a hand-picked team of freelancers with similar backgrounds to me, who have worked in journalism and across PR & marketing for a huge number of clients and industry sectors.
