We offered to help out with gaining media coverage for a big Xmas lunch event that’s taking place in Medway.
It’s run by our friends Grace Kelly and Paul Williams at 21st Century Flooring and Michelle Dowsett from Discovery PA.
For the last eight years, they’ve prepped, cooked, served and delivered Xmas lunches to people in Medway who need them, including the homeless and lonely.
Izzy PR offered to help them get word out to make sure those who want a dinner, know about it and can find out how to get one!
We sent the details of the event to various Kent media – as it’s such a wonderful Xmas story, plus there are so many people involved, giving donations of food, cash, and time – many spend the day on Dec 23rd prepping the veg and others serve the meals on the Big Day or deliver them.
It’s a big event that takes a lot of organising!

Here’s the summary:
- Approximately 250 Xmas lunches delivered or served to people who need them on Xmas day – the homeless, people on their own or who need a meal.
- Served from 12-3 at The Vines United Reformed Church, Rochester, ME1 1XN
- Delivered up to 1pm across Medway with a chat and a smile!
- Organised by Medway business people, led by Grace Kelly and Paul Williams from 21st Century Flooring and Michelle Dowsett from Discovery PA.
- It’s the 8th year the group have done it – it was started by Grace Kelly because after volunteering for a few years in London, she wanted to help those in her local community.
- Huge ‘chop the veg’ and ‘make the lunch’ sessions go on at the same venue on December 23rd from 9-4pm.
- An army of volunteers, to prepare Christmas Lunch with all the trimmings and drivers delivering the meals across Medway on Xmas Day
