Izzy PR is supporting a dog sanctuary set up specifically to help street dogs in North Cyprus.
Our founder Sarah’s parents have lived there for the last 20 years and one of their friends saw a need to help street dogs who were ill, injured, with puppies or being abused or at risk of attack from other dogs.
With some land donated by the local mayor, she set up Freedom Dog Sanctuary, where shelters and enclosures have been built by a team of volunteers who now visit the dogs daily to feed them, walk them, take them to the vet and give them lots of love and cuddles.
Sarah was asked to help promote the dogs on social media to help them find new homes both in the UK and Cyprus too.
Sarah said: “It was such a pleasure to go to the Freedom Sanctuary when I was in Cyprus just before Xmas! They rescue the dogs who just can’t live on the streets. I’ve been watching all their progress over the last year on social media so to see it all for myself was amazing.
“Despite some of them having such a rough start living on the streets, the wonderful Freedom Sanctuary volunteers are giving them love and showing them that people are OK. And you’d never know their backgrounds – we met around 30 of the dogs and each was loving and friendly, just wanting to find their human.
“I was asked to film and photograph the dogs they have ready for adoption, plus write some bios for them too, ready to share on Facebook.
“With help from my dog-obsessed 10 year old daughter, these are now on their Facebook page – she did a great job!”
